We are a catering company with a difference.  We use unique recipes gathered from around the world to provide you with a truly mouth watering, talk provoking experience. 

We cater for all your events, whether it is a wedding, meeting, conference, party celebration, office lunch or training event. We offer a wide range of options starting from a simple sandwich, roll and wrap buffet to hot and cold main dishes with accompaniments, desserts and our renowned cakes.  Our ‘Pick and Mix’ menu allows you to choose exactly what you want at a price that you can afford and if there is something you want that’s not listed then let us know and we’ll do our best to cater for your needs. 

 

Our prices range from £3.50 for a Working Breakfast Selection with pastries, fruit and smoothies, to £9.95 for the Wooden Spoon Surprise – a tasty selection of seasonal hot and cold dishes, accompaniments and desserts inspired by our multicultural community. 

For those larger more complicated events don’t feel you have to do all the work, let us do it for you.  Our motivated event management team will ensure your event will be the talk of the town (in a good way!). We can provide everything from the entertainment, room set up, lighting, table décor to a mouth watering 4 course meal and service with a smile.

Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply when using the service of Wooden Spoon Catering (WSC) and/or when placing an order you are bound by the conditions set out below.

Order Acceptance & Confirmation

No order will be considered binding on WSC until it is officially confirmed by the duly authorised representative of WSC.  The terms and conditions may not be modified unless WSC agrees thereto in writing under the signature of a Director or duly authorised representative.

WSC will only confirm orders/booking upon receiving written instruction from Customers, via post or e-mail.  Orders/bookings can be placed over the phone however they will require to be confirmed in writing.

Confirmation of final numbers for an event/booking must be notified to WSC at least 7 days prior to the event, after this time WSC will make every endeavor to accommodate any increase in numbers.  No decrease in numbers can be accepted after this time.

Pricing

All prices may be revised annually.  Prices may differ from prices stated in promotion materials.  All prices are subject to VAT, unless otherwise stated.  VAT will be applied at the rate applicable at the time of goods and services being provided. Every effort will be made to ensure the accuracy of quotations at the time; WSC reserves the right to revise the price for its goods and services should cost price change beyond its control.  Any revisions will be notified and agreed between both parties prior to function.  No reduction of refund will be given for any food provided at the customers’ request that is subsequently not consumed.

Payment, Deposit

For all orders over £200 a non refundable deposit of 25% of total cost must be paid upon order acceptance and full payment must be made, in cash, prior to or on the date of the event. Cheques will be accepted however they must be presented to WSC 10 days prior to the date of the event/booking.

All orders/bookings under £200 must be paid in cash prior to or on the date of the event unless an agreement in writing has been made by a director or duly authorized representative that enables payment following invoicing in this case all payments must be made within 30 days of invoicing.

Payment can be made by Cheque or BACs. Cheques are made payable to – Wooden Spoon Catering. 

Cancellation charges/amendments

All confirmed orders that are cancelled within the time periods stated below will incur the corresponding charges against the full amount.

0 – 2 weeks =    100%

2 – 4 weeks =     75%

4 – 6 weeks =    50%

Delivery Charges

A delivery charge of £10 is incurred for orders within a 10 mile radius of DD3.  Locations out with this radius will be charged an extra 60p per mile.  WSC may refuse delivery if the location exceeds a distance deemed inappropriate.

Delivery Collections

WSCC will make every endeavor to deliver the goods at the time agreed with the Customer.  However due to circumstances beyond WSC control this may not always be possible. WSC will endeavor to keep the Customer fully informed of any delays.  WSC will require clear access to chosen venue along with clear instructions of the area which WSC have been asked to set up. If access is unreasonable or blocked then WSC take no responsibility for delays in set up and performance times and may charge extra for the additional time.

Collection of equipment after the event will be made by WSC at a time and location agreed with the Customer.  WSC reserves the right to charge waiting time at a rate of £5 per 30 minutes if all of the equipment is not available for collection at the agreed time and location

Menu

Whilst every effort will be made to produce the exact menu agreed, WSC reserves the right to alter a particular ingredient or item of the menu if it is not available, and replace it with a suitable alternative.  Many dishes contain foods with allergens, on request, WSC will inform the Customer of these ingredients, however WSC cannot guarantee that other dishes or ingredients do not contains traces of these products

Supply

Sales by WSC to the Customer under this agreement will be for the products and/or services indicated on the face of the invoice or order as the case may be.

Food Storage

The provisions of all supplies will be in good condition at the point of delivery.  Due diligence will transfer to the Customer at the time of delivery to ensure that the food supplied is maintained in appropriate storage conditions prior to its consumption and thereafter.  WSC cannot be held responsible for any deterioration or damages after the time of delivery

Damages

WSC reserves the right to charge the full replacement cost of any piece of equipment provided to the Customer that is either damaged or lost whilst in possession of the Customer. A list of replacement charges is available.

Insurance

Goods supplied hereunder shall be at the Customers risk immediately on delivery and the Customer must provide insurance cover for the goods from that time if required.

Liability

WSC confirms that they have and will maintain sufficient Public Liability Insurance for events of the nature of booking in relation to their catering service.  A copy of WSC’s certificate is available upon request.

WSC follows strict HACCP guidelines for all food production, handling storage and distribution and dealing with our clients and their guests.  Our policy, based on these guidelines, restricts the serving of foodstuffs to a maximum of two hours after being removed from refrigeration.  WSC advise that all food must be consumed after two hours of initial delivery, therefore any food consumed after two or more hours of it first being delivered is at the clients discretion and therefore becomes their responsibility.

Where WSC uses the clients’ kitchen facilities, they will be thoroughly risk assessed prior to the Event.  If they are deemed to be unusable on the date of the event then WSC will accept no liability for cancellation of the event.
